What a careful interior job looks like
The finish coat is the last ten percent. The rest is preparation:

- Nail holes, cracks and dings filled and sanded flush.
- Gaps at trim and casing caulked so the lines read clean.
- Stains and patches primed so the finish dries to one even sheen.
- Two coats where the color change or the wall calls for it, and a clean-up every day.
Popcorn ceilings and wallpaper
Popcorn texture and old wallpaper are two of the most common things holding a room back. Both come off, the surface underneath is repaired and primed, and the room is painted. Ceiling texture applied before the 1980s can contain asbestos and should be tested before anyone scrapes it - mention roughly when your house was built.
Getting a house ready to list or rent
